Auxiliary Donates Tree to Hospital

Mountain Home, ID (December 17, 2010) Elmore Medical Center has a new Christmas tree in the hospital lobby thanks to the members of the Elmore Medical Center Auxiliary. The Auxiliary purchased a 9 foot, pre-lit tree with money raised from fundraisers held during the past year.
The Auxiliary was started in1956; one year after Elmore Medical Center opened its doors.  Their mission is to advance the well-being of patients and their families by providing volunteer services and raising funds to support Elmore Medical Center.
Auxiliary members volunteer in the Long Term Care Unit helping with resident activities and organize the annual Mother’s Day Tea and annual Resident Christmas Party. The Auxiliary hosts fundraising activities to purchase needed items in the hospital and Long Term Care Unit.  Annually they conduct a See’s Candy sale, host scrub sales, “Books are Fun” book and gift sales and potato bar luncheons at the hospital.
“This year we wanted to do something nice that all the patients, families and employees could enjoy.  We decided it would be nice to purchase a new Christmas tree for the hospital because they have not had a new one in quite some time” stated Mildred McNeal, Auxiliary President.  “We hope that when the employees see the tree, they know how much the Auxiliary and community appreciates the care that they give us.”
New members are always welcome to join the EMC Auxiliary. The Auxiliary meets the second Monday of each month at 7 pm in the Elmore Medical Center conference room (September-May). Guests are encouraged to attend and meet the Auxiliary members at any time.

Anyone interested in more information call Mildred McNeal at 587-3227.
